Mira AI is already answering visitor questions from your website and product feed — but sometimes you'll spot answers that need a human touch. The Training feature lets you add custom Q&A pairs, fix wrong answers directly from conversations, and decide which Mira AI uses which custom responses.
We've broken the guide into the following sections:
Before you start
Training fills the gaps that web scraping and the product feed can't cover — internal policies, special offers, brand-specific phrasing, or anything that isn't on your website yet.
Limits to know: You can add up to 30 custom Q&A pairs per Mira AI and up to 20 website pages for scraping. Custom responses always take priority over web scraping and product feed sources. Need a higher limit? Custom responses can be increased up to 100 on request — just contact us.
Note: Mira AI uses your custom responses as contextual guidance, not as copy-paste text. Irrelevant or test answers like "Bla, bla, bla" will be ignored — write real, complete answers from the start.
Keep web scrapes fresh: When you add a web scrape source, you can turn on automatic updates so Mira AI re-reads the page regularly — choose every month (default) or every 2 weeks. This keeps details like contact info or FAQs up to date. Automatic updates for web scrape sources are available to Mira AI subscribers.
Train Mira AI
Add custom Q&A pairs in four short steps.
Step 1 — Open the Training page
In your Smartsupp dashboard, click the magic wand icon to open the Mira AI section and select Training. The page lists all your custom responses (Q&A pairs) in one place.
Step 2 — Add a new Q&A pair
Click the + Add button in the top-right corner to add a question that Mira AI couldn't previously answer from your sources.
Step 3 — Type your question and answer
In the modal, type your question and the answer Mira AI should give. Don't forget to click Save.
Tip — formatting: The answer field supports rich-text formatting, so you can use bold and lists to highlight the important parts. Mira AI delivers its replies in Markdown, so this structure carries through to what visitors see in the chat. The same rich-text editor is also available for Plain Text sources.
Step 4 — Watch your question count
The Training page shows your usage against your custom-responses limit (30 Q&A pairs by default). Keep your most-asked, hard-to-answer questions in the list — and remove old ones you no longer need.
To keep the list tidy, use the search bar to find a specific entry, or open the ⋯ menu next to any Q&A pair to Edit, Update, or Delete it.
Train from inside conversations
When Mira AI replies to a visitor and the answer misses the mark, you can fix it on the spot — without leaving the inbox.
In any conversation, click the Correct answer button next to Mira's reply. A modal opens where you add the question and the better answer. The new Q&A is saved straight to the Training page and Mira will use it from now on.
Custom responses per Mira AI
If you run more than one AI assistant, you can decide which one uses your custom responses and which one doesn't. One assistant can rely on the trained Q&A pairs while another answers purely from its own sources.
Open the assistant you want to configure and go to Knowledge base → Custom responses. Use the master toggle in the top-right corner to turn custom responses on or off for that assistant.
Once custom responses are enabled, you can also pick specific Q&A pairs the assistant will use — each row has its own on/off toggle, and the ⋯ menu lets you edit, update, or delete an entry.
