Platform-Specific Instructions
Shoper
If the Smartsupp app installation does not inject the script and the script cannot be found in the page’s HTML, follow these steps:
Log in to your Shoper admin panel and navigate to the HTML template editor.
Insert the Smartsupp script snippet into the global header or before the closing
</body>tag to ensure it loads on all pages.Save your changes and test your website to confirm the widget is functioning correctly.
Shopify
If connecting Smartsupp through the Shopify integration is not possible due to restrictions, you can manually install the widget:
Log in to your Shopify admin panel and go to the theme editor.
Locate the HTML section of your theme (e.g.,
theme.liquid).Add the Smartsupp script snippet to the global header or before the closing
</body>tag to ensure it loads on all store pages.Save your changes and verify that the widget is visible on your Shopify store.
General Steps for Manual Installation
Obtain the Smartsupp script snippet from your Smartsupp account.
Access your website's HTML template or theme editor.
Insert the script snippet into a location where it will load on all pages of your site. Common locations include:
The global header section
Before the closing
</body>tag
Save your changes and verify that the Smartsupp widget appears on your website. Alternatively, you can place the script snippet before the closing
</body>tag if it better suits your website's structure. This ensures the widget loads correctly across all pages.
Note: In case you are using a platform (e.g. Prestashop, WordPress, or other), check out our list of 50+ integrations we prepared for your convenience on platforms that are compatible and where you can install Smartsupp with ease in just a few steps. If the default integration method does not work for your platform, you can manually install the Smartsupp widget by following the steps outlined in the manual installation section.
Smartsupp can be installed on a specific number of domains according to our pricing. In the EXPERT (Legacy: PRO) and ULTIMATE (Legacy: Ultimate) packages, you can customize the color of the chat box and other options on each website using our API. You can set different chat box languages on each website using our API also.
