How to install the Smartsupp live chat on your Shoptet store — using the official Smartsupp+ addon from the Shoptet marketplace.
Running your e-shop on Shoptet? This guide walks you through everything you need to connect Smartsupp to your store — from installing the addon to setting up cookie consent.

Install Smartsupp on your Shoptet store
The easiest way to add Smartsupp to your Shoptet store is through the official Smartsupp+ addon. No coding needed — just install, connect your account, and you’re ready to chat.
Find the Smartsupp+ addon
In your Shoptet administration, click on Connections, then Addons Manager, and select Go to Shoptet Addons.
Search for Smartsupp+ in the addon marketplace.
Connect your Smartsupp account
Once you’ve added the Smartsupp+ addon, you can Create a new account or Connect an existing account. Log in with your Smartsupp credentials to link your account to the store.
Tip: The Smartsupp+ addon is the fastest and safest way to install Smartsupp on Shoptet. After connecting your account, the chat widget will appear on your store automatically.
Note: Want to activate a multilingual chat box? You can add the multilingual chat box API in the Shoptet administration via Appearance and content > Editor > HTML code. Place the API code in the Footer section (before the closing BODY tag). If it doesn’t work, try the Header section instead.
How to disconnect Smartsupp
If you no longer want to use Smartsupp on your store or need to deactivate the integration temporarily, click on Disconnect Smartsupp account in the Smartsupp+ addon tab in your Shoptet administration.
Tip: Disconnecting your account only removes the chat widget from your store. Your Smartsupp account and all conversation history remain intact — you can reconnect at any time.
Cookie consent
If GDPR requires your website to have a cookie banner, Smartsupp provides a built-in solution that lets visitors choose which cookies to allow or deny. Thanks to the Shoptet integration, everything is connected automatically.
Enable cookie consent in Smartsupp
In your Smartsupp dashboard, go to Settings > Chatbox > Options and enable Manage cookie consent.
Configure cookies in Shoptet
In your Shoptet dashboard, click on Templates and open the Cookies tab. Set the variant of consent to Consent required.
Tip: After completing these steps, your Shoptet cookie bar will be connected with Smartsupp automatically. No manual code changes are needed.
