Google Sites

Smartsupp cannot be installed on Google Sites because Google blocks custom JavaScript. Use Webnode, Wix, WordPress, or another supported platform instead.

Google Sites is Google's drag-and-drop website builder. Unfortunately, Smartsupp cannot be installed on Google Sites because Google blocks custom JavaScript code (including chat widgets, analytics scripts, and tracking pixels) from being embedded in any site built on this platform.

This guide is split into the following sections:

Why Smartsupp can't run on Google Sites

Google Sites is a closed platform — it does not allow custom JavaScript or third-party scripts to be embedded in the page. The Smartsupp chat widget needs to load a small JavaScript snippet to work, so it can't be installed there. If you try to paste the chat code into a Google Sites embed block, you'll see the following error:

Note: This restriction is enforced by Google, not by Smartsupp. There's no workaround — chat widgets, analytics scripts (other than Google's own), and any third-party JavaScript will all be blocked on Google Sites.

Use a different platform instead

If you want to use Smartsupp on your website, you'll need to host it on a platform that allows custom code. Most modern website builders and CMS platforms support Smartsupp out of the box. Popular alternatives include:

  • Webnode — easy drag-and-drop builder with a built-in Smartsupp integration.

  • Wix — popular website builder where you can paste the Smartsupp code into the site's HTML.

  • Weebly — drag-and-drop builder that supports custom HTML/JS code blocks.

  • WordPress — the world's most popular CMS, with a dedicated Smartsupp plugin.

  • Browse all supported platforms — full list of platforms with Smartsupp integration.

Tip: Don't have a Smartsupp account yet? Sign up for free — it only takes 2 minutes. You can connect Smartsupp to any website that allows custom HTML or JavaScript.
