Widget status with Mira AI

Learn how the widget status works with Mira AI and how to control when Mira AI is available to your visitors.

The widget status switches between online and offline based on your agents' availability. To provide 24/7 support for your visitors, you can use the Mira AI — it can remain available even when your agents are offline.

In this article, you'll learn:

  • what the widget status is and how it differs from the AI status,

  • when your Mira AI is available to visitors,

  • where to change the AI status settings.

💡 Available to all Mira AI users — no additional setup required.

Mira AI availability options

There are four options for setting when your Mira AI is available to visitors:

  • Anytime (recommended) — Mira AI is always available and the chat box appears as online. The best choice for continuous availability and maximum engagement.

  • When the chat box is online — Mira AI is available only when your operators are online. The chat box appears as online.

  • When the chat box is offline, but Mira AI stays active — Mira AI is immediately available even when operators are offline, and the chat box remains online. This maintains the impression of availability even without operators.

  • When the chat box is offline — Mira AI becomes available once the visitor writes a message or after a delay (based on your welcome message settings). The chat box appears as offline.

Note: In the same Scheduling card you can also limit Mira AI's availability to specific months and days of the week.

When is Mira AI available to visitors?

The widget status visitors see depends on the combination of your agents' availability and the Mira AI status setting:

Note: When all your agents are offline, the chat box shows visitors a contact form after their first message — even with Mira AI set to be available. To let Mira AI answer without the form, keep at least one agent logged in (online).

How to change Mira AI status

  • Go to your Smartsupp dashboard and open the Mira AI section (magic wand icon), then select AI Assistants.

  • Open the AI assistant you want to edit.

  • In the left-hand menu, select Settings → Triggers settings and open the Scheduling card.

  • Choose one of the four available options (for best results, we recommend Anytime).

  • Optionally limit the availability to specific months or days of the week, then click Save.

  • Publish the assistant with Publish changes so the new setting goes live.

That's it! Your Mira AI is now ready to respond to visitor queries according to your preferences.
