Stop juggling tabs to read Facebook Messenger DMs. Smartsupp's Facebook integration brings every message from your Facebook Page into the same inbox as your live chat — and you reply right from there. This article walks you through connecting your Page, adding more Pages later, and the few rules Facebook enforces on replies.

Facebook integration overview
When a visitor sends a message to your Facebook Page, Smartsupp picks it up and shows the conversation alongside your live chat threads — marked with a small blue Messenger icon so you always know the source.
Key things to know before you start:
Works with both Personal and Business Pages.
You can connect multiple Pages to the same Smartsupp account.
Facebook chat and website chat stay separate channels — messages don't cross over automatically.
You must reply within 24 hours — that's a Facebook policy, not a Smartsupp limit.
Connect a Facebook Page
Before you start, make sure you're logged into Facebook in the same browser as Smartsupp. The connection runs through Facebook's secure OAuth flow, so you don't enter your Facebook password into Smartsupp.
Warning: If the connection fails and you use AdBlock or a similar extension, disable it temporarily — ad blockers often break the Facebook authorization popup.
Step 1. In Smartsupp open Settings → Integrations, find Facebook in the list, and click Connect.
Step 2. Choose whether to connect a Personal Page or a Business Page, then sign in to Facebook if prompted.
Step 3. Select the Page you want to connect and grant all the requested permissions. Skipping any permission breaks message sync.
Step 4. Send a test message to your Facebook Page from another account — it should appear in your Smartsupp inbox within a few seconds.
Note: Authorization runs entirely on Facebook's side — your Facebook credentials are never visible to or stored by Smartsupp.
Connect multiple Pages
Got more than one Facebook Page? You can connect them all to the same Smartsupp account. In Step 2 of the connection flow, simply select every Page you want to bring in — Smartsupp handles the rest.
Note: To add a brand-new Page later, you'll need to disconnect the existing Pages first and reconnect all of them together. Facebook's authorization flow doesn't support adding Pages one at a time.
Reply to Facebook conversations
Facebook conversations behave just like regular Smartsupp chats — type your reply, hit send, done. The only visual difference is the blue Messenger icon next to each conversation and message.
A few Facebook-side restrictions to keep in mind:
24-hour reply window — after that, Facebook closes the conversation and you'll have to reply directly from your Facebook Page.
Limited visitor info — Facebook only exposes the customer's display name; we can't see email, location, or browsing data like with website chat.
No file uploads from Smartsupp side — you can read attachments visitors send, but agent-side uploads aren't supported through the Messenger API.
