Targito

Connect Smartsupp chat to Targito email marketing — emails collected via chat are automatically saved as new contacts in Targito and trigger your welcome/DOI campaign.

Targito is a Czech email marketing and CRM platform. The Smartsupp module in Targito automatically saves email addresses collected through your Smartsupp chat to your Targito contact database, where they can be processed by a "New Contact" campaign (welcome flow, double opt-in, etc.).

This guide is divided into the following sections:


How it works

When a visitor enters their email address into your Smartsupp chat, Targito creates a new contact and passes it to the selected "New Contact" campaign for further processing (welcome email, consent confirmation, and so on). In the Column Mapping section you can set default values that are applied to every new contact (e.g. source = smartsupp, consent = yes).

The module is enabled separately for each website in the left panel of Default Settings, so you can trigger a different campaign for each site.

Requirements: An active Smartsupp account with the chat installed on your website, and a prepared "New Contact" campaign in Targito (for the welcome/DOI flow).


Set up the Smartsupp module

Sign in to your Targito admin and go to ModulesSmartsupp. Configure the module:

  • In the Smartsupp Account ID field, enter your account ID from Smartsupp.

  • In the Campaign for new contact field, select the "New Contact" campaign that should process newly collected emails.

  • In Column MappingNew Column, choose a column in the CONTACTS table (e.g. source, consent_newsletter) and set its default value (e.g. smartsupp, true). Add as many mappings as you need.

  • Click Save default settings.

  • In the left panel, select the website and enable the module using the toggle switch.

Verify the integration

Open your website in a new browser tab and start a chat. Enter a test email address in the Smartsupp chat — the contact should appear in your Targito contact database within a few moments and the "New Contact" campaign should run as configured.

Tip: If new contacts don't appear in Targito, double-check that the Smartsupp Account ID is correct, the module is enabled for the right website, and the "New Contact" campaign is active. Still nothing? See Why don't I see the chat on my website? or contact Targito support.
