Gambio is a German e-commerce platform popular with small and mid-sized online shops in the DACH region. Gambio ships with a built-in Smartsupp module, so you can connect your shop to Smartsupp directly from the Gambio admin — no code needed. As a fallback, you can always paste the Smartsupp tracking code into your shop's HTML manually.

This guide is split into the following sections:


Activate Smartsupp in Gambio

Open your Gambio admin and find the Smartsupp module under ModulesModule Center (or MarketingLive Chat, depending on your Gambio version). Activate the Smartsupp module and paste your Smartsupp chat key (a short string that identifies your account). Save the settings — Gambio will inject the chat code into every page of your shop automatically.

Tip: Don't have a Smartsupp account yet? Sign up for free — it only takes 2 minutes. Your chat key is in SettingsChat boxInstallation in the Smartsupp dashboard.

Note: The Smartsupp module in Gambio is developed and maintained by Gambio. If the integration looks different or you can't find the Smartsupp option in your version, contact Gambio support — they're the right people to ask about module behaviour inside Gambio.


Manual installation (fallback)

If the Gambio module isn't available in your version or doesn't work for your setup, you can install Smartsupp manually by pasting the chat code into your shop's HTML <head> section. Follow the universal installation guide — it walks you through grabbing the chat code from the Smartsupp dashboard and adding it to any website.


Verify the installation

Open your Gambio shop in a new browser tab and refresh the page. The Smartsupp chat widget should appear in the corner of your shop. Then log in to the Smartsupp dashboard to start chatting with visitors.
