Blocking stops an unwanted visitor from chatting with you — the chat box simply disappears for them. You can block someone during a conversation, from the Visitors tab, or by their IP address, and unblock them the same way.
Available in: the SOLO, PLUS, and EXPERT packages (Legacy: STANDARD, PRO).
We've broken the article into a few sections:
Block a visitor
If the visitor is still on your website, open the conversation, click the menu icon (1), and choose Block visitor (2). To unblock, repeat the same steps. The chat box then disappears for that visitor.
You can also block a visitor — and their IP address — from the Visitors tab in your Dashboard: find the visitor, open their profile, and select the block option.
Block an IP address
If you know the visitor's IP address, block it in Settings (1) → Account settings (2) → Security and privacy (3) → Add IP address (4).
💡 Tip: Use an asterisk (*) to block a whole range of IP addresses — for example: 192.168.0.*, *.168.0.1, 1*2.168.0.1, or 192.168.*.
Note: To block IP addresses, first enable IP address tracking in your Dashboard (see below).
Keep in mind that spammers may use VPNs or multiple IP addresses to get around IP blocking. For better protection, combine it with other measures — for example Google reCAPTCHA to cut automated traffic, watching your dashboard for suspicious patterns, and keeping your website and chat up to date with the latest security features.
