The current version of the email integration feature is in Beta testing and it's free to use. The functionality of the integration can be limited due to the Beta phase. Any feedback on this feature would be highly appreciated.

E-mail integration
This integration is easy to set up with any e-mail box provider. You will only need your email login and password (check the details below).
Email integration is available for all your active agents and allows you to integrate with multiple email providers simultaneously. You can see which email address the visitor contacted and which email address you are replying from.
Every agent can see an email subject, as well as attach and receive files.
Each new email creates a new conversation in Smartsupp, even if the email address already has an active conversation. Replies sent to an existing email conversation are added to the thread within a single Smartsupp conversation. The email integration manages email reply history within the thread.
Additionally, replies sent from Smartsupp are delivered to the recipient but are not synchronized back to Gmail. This means that your replies will not appear in Gmail's sent thread.
Your emails will start syncing from the moment of integration. However, previously received emails will not be synced into the Smartsupp inbox.
Furthermore, emails remain unread in Gmail until you open them in Gmail. Smartsupp does not mark emails as read in your Gmail client, even if you have read and replied to them in Smartsupp.
Why do advertising messages appear in Smartsupp chats?
Advertising messages or newsletters are not sent by Smartsupp. These messages arrive at the email address connected to your Smartsupp account and are imported into your conversation list because of the email integration feature. This feature imports emails from your mailbox into Smartsupp, which can include promotional emails or newsletters.

How can I stop advertising messages from appearing in Smartsupp chats?
To prevent advertising messages or newsletters from appearing in your Smartsupp conversations, you can take the following steps:
Unsubscribe from newsletters: Use the unsubscribe link typically found at the bottom of each email to stop receiving these messages in your email inbox. This will prevent them from being imported into Smartsupp.
Create email filters: Set up filters in your email provider (e.g., Gmail, Outlook) to block or redirect emails from specific senders. This ensures that these messages do not get imported into Smartsupp via the email integration. By following these steps, you can ensure that your Smartsupp chat remains focused on customer interactions without unnecessary distractions from advertising messages.
Go to the Integrations tab and select "Connect" button next to e-mail integration. You can also use the link in the inbox leading to the Integrations tab.

Gmail
From the available options, select Gmail as your email provider. You will then be redirected to sign in to your Gmail account. Choose or enter your email address and password. Go through the next security steps and confirm the necessary permissions.
The authorization is secure â none of your login credentials are visible to or saved by Smartsupp.
After successful authorization, you will be redirected back to the Smartsupp Dashboard.

Select a provider and enter your email username, login and password (you can also optionally enter a Sender name) and confirm by clicking the "Complete" button.

If you have an email account from another provider and want to integrate it, you will need SMTP/IMAP. This information is publicly available for every email provider, and you can easily find it on their website or by contacting their support. To set up the integration, go to the Integrations tab and click the "Connect" button next to Email Integration. You can also connect your email account directly from the Smartsupp inbox.
Then fill in the SMTP and IMAP details, click "Continue", and enter your email login and password.
Click "Complete" button and your email integration is ready to use.
